This past weekend was nothing short of exhilarating for our team as we took to the track at Hickory Motor Speedway with our Purple Heart Homes. From the outset, it was clear that the DOM crew was in for a memorable day.
We kicked things off with a solid qualifying session, securing 2nd place. However, a quick redraw placed us in 4th place at the start of the race. This didn’t dampen our spirits; instead, it fueled our determination. By lap 3, we had already made bold moves, passing competitors on inside and outside lanes and taking an early lead.
Leading most of the race, we were in strong form, showcasing the power and precision of our modified. The crowd’s roar and the thrill of the chase kept us pushing hard. Despite the challenge of consistency, we never lost our spirit. We couldn’t hold onto the lead until the end, despite leading most of the laps. But that’s racing—full of highs, lows, and valuable lessons.
The day wasn’t just about the competition on the track. We were thrilled to have almost every partner in the pits with us, sharing the excitement and camaraderie that make racing such a unique sport. It was a blast to have everyone there, experiencing the ups and downs of the day together.
Reflecting on the race, we’re already considering our next challenge at the New River All-American Speedway. The DOM crew is more determined than ever to fine-tune our performance and return stronger. We’re ready to take on the competition with the same grit and passion that drives us every race day. Our determination is unwavering.
